Activities of the legal clinic under the conditions of distance learning

Abstract

The article describes the problems of work organization at legal clinic during distance learning. The concept of «distance learning» is revealed. At the current stage, radical changes are taking place in the methods of dissemination and use of information, which lead to the evolution of educational technologies, contribute to the active implementation of distance learning as one of the directions of reforming the educational system of Ukraine. In such conditions, the issue of organizing the activity of a legal clinic becomes important as an effective and innovative way of training specialists in the field of knowledge in the field of «Law» and as a material, technical and methodical basis for the practical training of highly qualified lawyers at the modern stage in the conditions of distance learning. The main tasks of the legal clinic are: a) preparation of the applicant (clinician) for practical activities; b) creating places for practice; c) provision of free legal aid to poorly protected sections of the population; d) right educational activity; e) scientific activity. Providing free legal assistance is an integral part of the activity of the legal clinic. Counseling is a special type of intellectual and practical interaction between the acquirer (clinician) and the client, with the help of which the acquirer (clinician) helps the client in making decisions. During the provision of legal assistance, the principle of confidentiality must be observed, as it is the fundamental basis for building the relationship between the clinician and the client. The challenges of the legal clinic under the conditions of distance learning are defined. It was noted that anti-epidemic restrictive measures and measures, which are connected with the imposition of martial law in Ukraine significantly affected the educational process in Ukraine, causing a deterioration in the quality and availability of education. And the deterioration of the quality and availability of education, in turn, led to the complication of the work at the legal clinic. It is emphasized that the functioning of the legal clinic under the conditions of distance learning will depend on the intensive search for new approaches and innovative forms of work organization. It is emphasized that under the conditions of distance learning, legal clinics found themselves in a situation where it became almost impossible to carry out traditional types of activities, therefore there is a need to transform their activities taking into account modern realities.
